INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

As parents know their child best, it is very important to work together as part of a team. I can offer a range of services, including an initial assessment of your child, direct or indirect therapy, and follow-up reviews of progress. I can also assess your child and provide a detailed report in support of an Education and Health Care Plan, and work closely with nurseries and schools to support delivery of therapy in those settings if appropriate.

Initial consultation

15-minute consultation to discuss concerns and agree a possible plan of action.

Initial assessment

This involves:

  • the first meeting with the parent/guardian to discuss concerns and to complete a case history;

  • assessment of the child’s communication skills, via observation or 1:1 assessment (depending on age of child);

  • a follow-up discussion with the parent to outline findings;

  • providing a Programme and resources/strategies as needed.

Option 1: as above, with brief summary report and programme, £350*.

Option 2: as above, with detailed report, £450.*

Follow-up review

This involves:

  • a discussion with parent/guardian to discuss progress and concerns;

  • assessment of child’s current communication skills (via observation or 1:1 assessment depending on age of child);

  • writing a report and providing an updated Programme and resources/strategies as needed.

Option 1: as above, with brief summary report and Programme, £300.

Option 2: as above, with detailed report, £375.

One-to-one therapy

I can see your child for direct one-to-one therapy via video or, if appropriate,  face-to-face. Each session lasts up to 45 minutes, plus time to debrief the parents and to agree next steps. Direct therapy is usually delivered in blocks of six sessions.

Hourly fee, £85.

Block of six one-hour sessions, £450.

Writing Speech and Language advice for an Education and Healthcare Plan

This involves:

  • a discussion with parent/guardian and school staff to identify a child’s communication strengths and needs;

  • assessment of child’s current communication skills (via observation or 1:1 assessment depending on age and needs of child);

  • a follow-up discussion with school/ nursery staff to outline findings;

  • discussion with parents to agree proposed outcomes;

  • writing the Education and Healthcare advice.

£525 (based on a full day).

* Please note that if you would like me to assess/observe the child in a nursery/school setting, this can be arranged subject to consent from the setting.
